This project is a wheel thrown vase. It is about 6 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter and it has a smooth surface. It is glazed with a lighter blue on the bottom and a darker blue on top with a brown stripe between both colors to create contrast. The line is meant to superset the 2 colors to elongate the vase. It is very dark and reminds me of the outdoors and nature with the colors used.
This is our group cool project. The project is a cool pot that is about 6 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. We glazed it with a dark blue color and added addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division signs that are painted black because we are giving it to Mr. Duba who is a math teacher. 3 coils up we added balls of clay to utilize negative space and texture on the coils.
This is a wheel thrown bowl. It is about 4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter and has a smooth surface. It is glazed with white underneath blue dripping effect on the inside and outside of the bowl. This bowl displays shape and a bit of contrast with the lines being a darker blue against a white surface with the drips drawing attention to the shape of the bowl. The blue drips remind me of water and I feel that they look like waves in the ocean.
This is a wheel thrown bowl. It is about 2 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter and has a smooth surface. It is glazed with a dark, greenish color underneath black drips on the outside. This bowl displays line and pattern in the drips on the outside to try and elongate the height of it since it is very short and it emphasizes the outside of the bowl to be able to see the shape. The black drips on top on of the dark green color reminds me of shadows of trees in a dark forest so it gives a bit of a dark and creepy feel.
